Project overview

The context behind RedLightning.

RedLightning was designed to simplify and supercharge the way startups and nonprofits raise funds. It’s more than just a pitch deck tool — it's an all-in-one mobile platform that lets founders build investor-ready presentations, track outreach, manage campaigns, and collaborate with their team from anywhere. Whether you're a first-time founder crafting your first deck or a growing nonprofit managing multiple investor conversations, RedLightning brings structure, clarity, and speed to every part of the fundraising process — all within a beautifully simple mobile experience.

With a platform aimed at both startups and nonprofits, we had to tackle several important challenges: Making Fundraising Mobile-First: Founders are often on the move — we needed to make complex tasks like deck creation and campaign tracking easy to manage from a phone. Combining Multiple Tools into One App: Pitch decks, investor CRM, campaign management — all had to be tightly integrated without cluttering the experience. Collaboration Without Complication: Real-time teamwork needed to feel natural, not like a chore. Data Security at the Core: Sensitive investor communications and fundraising data demanded serious security features. Balancing Power and Simplicity: We had to pack in a lot of features without making the app feel bloated or overwhelming for users.

We focused on giving users smart, accessible tools that feel effortless: Built Natively for Speed: Using Swift, we created a fast and fluid iOS experience that worked great across both iPhones and iPads. Drag-and-Drop Pitch Deck Builder: Custom templates, real-time editing, and instant export options made creating professional decks quick and easy. Investor CRM Integration: Users could track investor conversations, follow-ups, and responses in one place — like a mobile deal pipeline. Campaign Management Tools: We added visual milestone tracking and dynamic funding updates to make campaign progress easy to follow. Real-Time Collaboration: Co-founders and teams could work on decks or campaigns together without any sync delays. Push Notifications for Key Moments: From pledge updates to investor replies, users stayed in the loop. Bank-Level Security: End-to-end encryption and secure cloud storage made sure sensitive data stayed private and protected.
