Pow and Go — built around a real need.

Pow and Go was built for the new generation of electric vehicle owners who want convenience, control, and confidence when charging on the go. This Android app helps drivers quickly find available EV charging stations, reserve a spot, and pay – all from one sleek, easy-to-use interface. Whether it’s a quick top-up in the city or a long-distance trip across the country, Pow and Go puts the power in the driver’s hands by connecting them with a growing network of public and private chargers throughout the UK.

EV charging is still evolving, and building an app for this space came with real-world challenges: Real-Time Charger Availability: Users needed up-to-the-second updates on charger status to avoid wasted trips or delays. Frictionless Booking & Payment: We had to make finding and paying for a charger as fast and smooth as filling a tank. Reliable Navigation: Integrating map data to guide users to the right station, even in busy city areas or remote spots, was key. Diverse Charger Networks: The app needed to work across multiple providers with varying data formats and access methods. Security and Trust: With payments, personal data, and location involved, users had to feel safe using the platform.

Our development focused on creating a smart, reliable, and future-ready solution: Native Android Build: We used Kotlin for performance and responsiveness across all supported devices. Google Maps Integration: Embedded live maps to show available stations, plan routes, and navigate directly within the app. Real-Time Sync via Firebase: Kept charger availability and user data updated instantly — no refresh needed. Stripe for Payments: Enabled secure, smooth in-app payments for stress-free checkout. User Dashboard: Let users manage vehicles, view charging history, track spending, and store payment methods. Smart Notifications: Alerts kept users updated on booking status, charging progress, and any issues — in real time. Scalable Backend: Designed with room to grow into smart grid integration and future EV network expansions.
